Data Bias: How Big Data Increases Inequality

Data has become increasingly prevalent in every aspect of our lives, including work, politics, health and play. In this course, we will explore how data can be used to tell compelling stories. We will think critically about how aggregating and analyzing data, and how tools like AI, are heavily influenced by bias, including our own. Students from all academic disciplines will gain critical insight into and experience with how data shapes - and sometimes distorts - our understanding of the world.
